IV Therapy & Treatment
IV Therapy & Treatment Center
If you have a serious condition or health need that requires IV therapy, our team at Little Neck Care Center is here to help. Our facility is home to skilled nurses who have extensive training in delivering medicines, blood transfusions and other fluids intravenously to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.
One of the main benefits of IV treatments is how quickly medicines and fluids can be introduced into the body. The process is typically pain-free and involves the insertion of a catheter into a patient’s peripheral vein, which is located in either their hand, wrist, arm, leg or foot. In some cases, a central vein, such as a larger vein in the torso, may be used, but this is not as common. Once the catheter has been inserted into the vein, the nurse can then hook up the IV bag above the entry point to begin the delivery of needed fluids.
We provide IV therapy and treatment for the following needs and conditions:
- Pain management
- Chemotherapy and nausea control
- Chronic disease management
- Difficulties eating or drinking normally
- Electrolyte imbalance
- Wound care
- Antibiotic therapy
- Steroid therapy for multiple sclerosis
